Takahashi Ai in Sanspo article – translation.

Hello! New article about Morning Musume and their upcoming single “Pepper Keibu” has been released today on Sanspo. This time – it has some quotes from Takahashi Ai. I’ve translated it, so you can read it too.

Morning Musume covered a big hit song from Pink Lady “Pepper Keibu”(Pepper Police Inspector). And this cover single will be released on 24th of September. “The arrangement of the dance is left as it was in the original, so I want you to dance to this song together with your families.” – says Takahashi Ai(22) leader of Morning Musume.

Takahashi Ai, as well as other Hello!Prohject members appeared in a dorama called “Hit Maker Aku Yuu Monogatari” so that became the cause for this new single. “It was the song, which everybody knows, so I was very glad, when it was decided to make a cover of it” – Says Takahashi smiling.

Takahashi’s mother was a big fan of Pink Lady back when they were popular. “Even now children and parents dance to this song, when they see videos of those days.” A bit later, in November, another cover of Aku Yuu’s song will be released. This time Takahashi Ai will sing “Izakaya”(Tavern) together with Hiroshi Itsuki.

And that’s all of the article. The most interesting point of the article are news that Ai-chan will sing yet another song by Aku Yuu – “Izakaya”. And it will be a duet with Hiroshi Itsuki. Now I’m looking forward to this, as well as the release of “Pepper Keibu.”

Morning Musume – Pepper Keibu PV

Hello! This was made available about two days ago, but somehow I managed to watch it only now. After wathcing the full and hq version of it I understood that I don’t like it that much. I think that it is weaker than Resonant Blue and a lot weaker than some of previous Morning Musume releases. Somehow I’m again thinking about “generation change” in H!P that we’ve heard of. Though maybe this song will grow up on me after couple of listens.

What I like about the PV itself – the costumes. Though I couldn’t catch a proper glimpse of them, because Dohhh Up! version, after all is not that great in quality. But costumes are good.

The concept of the PV is similar to the Resonant Blue it’s a dance shot with some close-ups. I think that more vesrsions of it will come as soon as Single V or maybe an Even V dvds will be released.

The PV starts of with an old-tv-like picture and sound that is similar to that of original times of the song(60-70ies – I don’t actually remember now when it was). And at some point it goes off to a more modern video and sound. I find this interesting, though at first time I had an idea that this was some kind of codec-malfunction and not an artistic touch to a PV. But overall first impression of the PV is not that bad that I though it could be. Once again – I think it will grow up on me and I start to like it(as it happened with Yuke Yuke Monkey Dance).

Hello! This day seems to be rich for news! And it’s great.

Morning Musume 37th single “Pepper Keibu”(Pink Lady Cover) Update

Hello! It’s time to update some information on this single. PV has been released inside Up-Front Video, the Up-Front mobile phone video site which is accesible only through Japanese mobile phone providers(don’t know the details) and someone has put it up on youtube.com

The quality is crappy – but it’s meant for mobile phones.

And I found a bit better quality version(though it’s crappy too) and it’s a bit longer.

Next think you might find interesting – covers. Though somehow I can’t find the big ones I saw somwhere… so I’ll put smaller once – these were posted at JPH!P forum by Risastar

Somehow I forgot what cover corresponds to what release… sorry for this – as soon as I clear this up for myself, I’ll post an update. As you can see there’s three covers. Because this single will be released in three different ways. Limited A – coming with DVD(it’s already sold out at CDJapan), Limited B – which comes with a photobook and regular, which doesn’t need any comments.

There’s also some screenshots from a program in which preview of the PV was shown. I’ll put these here too.

Having listened to the song and having watched the PV – I must say that I actually like it, altough I was pretty skeptic about this single. But seeing how they added a new fresh feel to a great oldie is just great. Now I’m really looking forward to this release.

Morning Musume 37th single ~Pepper Keibu~(Pink Lady cover)

Hello! Yup – the title says it all. We already have some information on Momusume’s 37th single. It’s going to be released on 24th of September. And it’s going to be Pink Lady song cover. We could hear this song performed by Takahashi Ai and Niigaki Risa in ‘Hit Maker Aku Yuu Monogatari’ so you maybe already have a bit of knowledge about how this song sounds.

Some newspaper scans have a bit of information on this – though it’s all in Japanese and I don’t have time to translate it for now… Sorry… But I will post them here – at least you can see the costumes for this single.

There’s two more scans – but it’s only text there – so I think it won’t be that interesting to you.This costumes are really interesting, but I would like to see them a bit better to make some decisions like whether I like them or not. For now – they are interesting.

Okay, personally I’m not that excited about this news. Mostly because I was expecting something new to be released by Morning Musume. But I think I’ll still enjoy this new single – because I like the original song and I think that the new arrangement will be great. We’ll just wait and see.
